THE HOOGHAN HOTEL
The course requires the studio to cover several essential aspects of interior design, including programming, space-planning, and metric measurements. Students will learn to prepare design concepts and apply them to create functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces while considering universal design principles and ADA guidelines to ensure accessibility for all users. Additionally, the course will emphasize the importance of researching and selecting appropriate finish materials to achieve desired outcomes. Through this course, students will develop critical skills necessary to become successful interior designers.
KINTSUGI RESTAURENT
Situated on the ground floor of the Hooghan Hotel in Phoenix, Kintsugi is a contemporary urban sushi restaurant that seamlessly blends Eastern and Western influences. Designed as a versatile space, it caters to a variety of experiences, from intimate dates and casual dining to business meetings and social gatherings. The restaurant’s design embodies the dynamic and diverse lifestyle of Phoenix residents while also reflecting the rich culture and natural beauty of the Southwest.

The Frederick on Missouri
My goal was to explore the relationship between Ethics and Aesthetics, based on local social and economic conditions, with the aspiration to bring a dignifying design to ALL. To bring this vision to life, we chose an existing mid-century modern building from the 1960s and transformed it into a vibrant commercial complex that celebrates the beauty of preservation while meeting contemporary needs.
